Haloodies' halal British chicken leg quarters are ideal to feed the family with a delicious chicken dish. Halal and tayyib are at the very heart of its preparation by our master butcher and his team. Using grade A chickens, this cut is perfect for cooking with an aromatic tandoori rub, or roasting in the oven with rosemary. Keeping the meat on the bone makes it super tender and flavor some.

DESCRIPTION

Chicken leg quarters are ideal to roast in the oven. Their versatility means you can put any marinade on or simply roast with herbs for a fabulous culinary creation. The skin has been left on especially so the marinade can soak into the meat and make the dish more tender and flavor some. Ideally served having been cooked with garlic and oregano and served with creamy mash or roast potatoes. Or why not feed the family with delicious roasted tandoori chicken legs, and conjure up memories of being a kid, made just like mum used to make!

Storage

Keep refrigerated below 5°C. Always store fresh meat away from cooked meats. Once opened, use immediately. Suitable for home freezing. Freeze on day of purchase and use within one month.  Defrost thoroughly in a refrigerator and use within 24 hours. Once defrosted, do not refreeze.

TO OVEN COOK. 180°C/400°F/Fan 160°C/Gas Mark 6. Do not cook from frozen. Remove all packaging. Preheat oven to 180°C/400°F/Fan 160°C/Gas Mark 6. Brush the chicken with oil and season with salt and pepper (optional). To seal the meat, preheat a frying pan over a high heat and carefully place the chicken in the dry pan for 2 minutes, turn and cook for a further 1 minute. Transfer to an ovenproof tray and cook in the preheated oven for a further 15-20 minutes, turning twice. Always ensure the food is cooked throughout before serving. Ensure juices run clear, if pink cook a little longer and test again. Do not reheat. Once cooked, place on a warm dish. Let it rest for 20 minutes before carving for best results.
