DESCRIPTION

Nothing will quite give you sticky fingers and delicious flavour in the way that fresh chicken drumsticks can. Their versatility means you can make them the canvas for your culinary creations - drizzle them with orange, peanut, honey, mustard, mint and marjoram, or keep it simple and let the juicy halal meat do the talking. Whether you choose to barbecue, bread, slow-cook or bake them, they're guaranteed to be the star ingredient, no matter which dish you want to create. And we've kept the skin on to keep all those yummy juices inside the meat for you to enjoy!

PREPARATION & STORAGE

Storage

Keep refrigerated below 5°C. Always store fresh meat away from cooked meats. Once opened, use immediately. Suitable for home freezing. Freeze on day of purchase and use within one month.  Defrost thoroughly in a refrigerator and use within 24 hours. Once defrosted, do not refreeze.

TO OVEN COOK. 180°C/400°F/Fan 160°C/Gas Mark 6. Do not cook from frozen. Remove all packaging. Preheat oven to 180°C/400°F/Fan 160°C/Gas Mark 6. Brush the chicken with oil and season with salt and pepper (optional). To seal the meat, preheat a frying pan over a high heat and carefully place the chicken in the dry pan for 2 minutes, turn and cook for a further 1 minute. Transfer to an ovenproof tray and cook in the preheated oven for a further 15-20 minutes, turning twice. Always ensure the food is cooked throughout before serving. Ensure juices run clear, if pink cook a little longer and test again. Do not reheat. Once cooked, place on a warm dish. Let it rest for 20 minutes before carving for best results.
